The vintage, copper and white metal clip-on earrings are in a circa 1950 design by Matisse. The earrings are marked “Matisse” and have the copyright mark. Around the middle of the 20^th Century, the US designer Jerry Fells designed jewellery in Art Deco and Modernist styles under the names “Matisse” and “Renoir”, primarily in copper and white metals, often with enamelling.
