Art Nouveau 9ct Gold, Garnet, Tsavorite and Pearl Necklace
Art Nouveau 9ct Gold, Garnet, Tsavorite and Pearl Necklace
The antique, Art Nouveau, 9ct necklace has two lengths of fine gold cable chain, with a tube-and-tongue clasp closure, supporting an Art Nouveau style pendant. At the top of the pendant there is a tube-set, oval-cut, garnet (approximately 7.5mm x 5.5mm – 1.15ct). From this garnet, two short lengths of gold cable chain connect to the open-work element of the pendant, which is set with a central, round-cut, tube-set garnet (approximately 5.5mm diameter – circa 0.75ct), surrounded by eleven seed pearls, The open-work gold elements are set with 16 further seed pearls and a small, round-cut tsavorite (approximately 2.5mm diameter – circa 0.05ct). The pendant terminates with a hinged, tube-set, teardrop-shaped, garnet pendant (garnet approximately 8.8mm x 5.5mm circa 0.6ct). The pendant is marked “9CT” and there is an illegible mark on the clasp. The various parts of the necklace have been electronically scanned and tests to be 9ct yellow gold.
