Art Deco Platinum and Diamond Brooch
The Art Deco platinum brooch, with a yellow gold needle and closure, was made in the Art Deco period in the distinctive style that was emerging at the time. It has an open work body with an angular design and is set with seven round old-cut diamonds (one diamond approximately 4.5mm diameter – circa 0.33ct; two diamonds approximately 3.4mm diameter – circa 0.15ct each; four diamonds approximately 2.5mm diameter – circa 0.055ct each; thus, total combined weight of circa 0.85ct; all diamonds colour I-J; clarity SI-I). The brooch is unmarked but tests to be platinum and yellow 18ct gold.
