18ct White Gold and Diamond Dress Ring
The modern 18ct white gold ring is rhodium-plated. It is set with 44 diamonds. Six of the diamonds are princess-cut (circa 0,13ct each), four of which are bezel-set as a cluster in the centre and two are bezel-set at the top of the shoulders. The central stones are surrounded by an inner line of 16 round brilliant-cut diamonds (circa 0.16ct in total) and also by an outer line of 16 brilliant-cut diamonds (circa 0.40ct in total). There are a further three diamonds (circa 0.025ct each) set into each shoulder. All diamonds are colour H-I and clarity about VS1. The ring is marked “750; BROWNS”, showing that the ring was made by Browns Jewellers of Johannesburg
