Modernist Otto Paulsen 18ct Gold, Diamond, and Lapis Lazuli Necklace

The vintage, Modernist style, 18ct yellow and white gold neck piece has an 18ct yellow gold, fine cable chain necklace supporting a pendant of U-shaped design set with a demi-lune shaped, polished, lapis lazuli (circa 5ct), and ten round, brilliant-cut diamonds claw-set in line, in a white gold panel at the top of the pendant (circa 0.1ct total). The cable chain necklace is marked “750” for 18ct gold. The pendant is marked with the maker’s name “OTTO PAULSEN”; and “18ct”. Otto Paulsen was a Durban, South Africa, based jeweller who worked for the Georg Jensen company before starting a jewellery business in about 1957. He retired in 1999.
